FINES/FEES ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Committed to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions.

Why We’re Doing It

The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition believes returning citizens can play an essential role in strengthening our communities and increasing public safety. FRRC launched the Fines & Fees Program because we believe in the value of returning citizens’ contributions to our communities.

How It Works

FRRC’s Fines and Fees Program helps returning citizens break down any barriers they may have to voting from financial obligations (e.g. fines, fees, or court costs) that arose from a felony conviction (excluding murder or felony sexual offenses).

To streamline the process wherever possible, we are working closely with stakeholders in several counties to coordinate the use of the court system and current provisions of the law to address financial obligations for returning citizens who apply. In addition, FRRC has partnered with We The Action to develop an Attorney Assistance Program so that pro bono attorneys can assist returning citizens through the process and advocate for relief as needed on a case-by-case basis.

Do you need help with fines and fees?

Returning citizens with questions or uncertainty surrounding their situation should still apply, as our team addresses each applicant’s submission as they are received.

We are here to help. Apply today!

Are you an attorney wanting to help?

Assist returning citizens (formerly convicted persons) by reviewing their felony convictions and filing for modifications.

I would like to say thank you FRRC for giving me the opportunity to work with you. It has been a beautiful time to be there to serve and serve in the community. Most of all I’m grateful for you paying off my fines and fees so I feel like I can move to another level now and not be hindered.
