Florida Rights Restoration Coalition Statement on the Removal of State Attorney Monique Worrell

ORLANDO, FLAugust 10, 2023 — “We know what it feels like to have politicians thwart the will of the voters,” said Desmond Meade, Executive Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC). “This is not new to us, and it’s disappointing to see. As we are protective of our republic and the sanctity of our elections, we would love to have seen the Governor take such decisive action to fix our broken election system.”

“The weaponization of law enforcement is a mortal threat to a free society,” said Neil Volz, Deputy Director of FRRC. “Those who have concerns about the FBI and the Donald Trump indictments should also have concerns about the Governor removing an elected state attorney. We all lose when the public believes law enforcement decisions are being used by politicians for political purposes.”
